This Week's Assignment

As you entered class today, written on the chalkboard was the question: what doctrine if understood would motivate you to prove yourselves herewith? The lesson focused on the pre-existence, a teaching removed by Christians in 543 AD in the council of Constantinople. Satan would want this to happen so that the children of God would be confused in their purpose for being in this life. Elder Bedar's counsel in the Reader's Theatre presented (see the lesson below) teaches us the importance of teaching the "why" to our children and all those we teach, in other words, the power of the doctrine.

President Eyring gives a wonderful explanation of the importance of this principle in his talk, "The Power of Teaching Doctrine." If you click on this title, you will be directed online to that talk.

Please consider pondering on the pre-existence and the power of the "echo" described by Elder Holland in his talk.

Please review your patriarchal blessing to study this blessing of possibilities as you discover who you are and why you are here on this earth.

To get the most out of the experience you have had this day, please teach the concepts of this doctrine to someone else this week. It will bless your life and change theirs.

Next week, we will be studying about the Creation. Please read Moses 1:27-42; 2-3 in preparation for this lesson.
